Cauliflower?? Who Knew!!

Im telling you, if food isn’t your medicine…then the sky isn’t blue!! If I knew how beneficial cauliflower was, I would have jumped on this a long time ago!  Did you know that….

“While cauliflower is not a well-studied cruciferous vegetable from a health standpoint, you will find several dozen studies linking cauliflower-containing diets to cancer prevention, particularly with respect to the following types of cancer: bladder cancer, breast cancer, colon cancer, prostate cancer, and ovarian cancer. This connection between cauliflower and cancer prevention should not be surprising, since cauliflower provides special nutrient support for three body systems that are closely connected with cancer development as well as cancer prevention. These three systems are (1) the body’s detox system, (2) its antioxidant system, and (3) its inflammatory/anti-inflammatory system. Chronic imbalances in any of these three systems can increase risk of cancer, and when imbalances in all three systems occur simultaneously, the risk of cancer increases significantly.” – Ambrosone CB, Tang L. Cruciferous vegetable intake and cancer prevention: role of nutrigenetics. Cancer Prev Res (Phila Pa). 2009 Apr;2(4):298-300. 2009.

Now if this doesn’t speak volumes, then I don’t know what will! How amazing, incredible and beautiful is that?  Are you telling me that this vegetable alone can give your body what it needs to prevent #2 out of 15, top killers of Americans!  Wow…

Cant really top that one but here’s more…

– excellent source for Vitamin C and Minerals, “Magnesium Ladies!!!!”

– decrease risk of inflammation-mediated diseases such as arthritis, obesity, diabetes mellitus

– increases blood flow, thus decreasing your risk of heart attack and stroke

  1. You can supplement cauliflower in rice dishes by processing the cauliflower until the consistency of rice in a food processor! Try making raw dishes with it, such as: Cauliflower Rice with Fresh Peas and Cumin. You can find the recipe on rawmazing.com
