No need to wait any longer…The top 5 are ACV (Apple Cider Vinegar), Garlic, Aloe Vera, Coconut Oil, and Ginger! Are you surprised, Im not! I can honestly say I use 3/5 on a daily basis for obvious reasons and here’s why…
Apple Cider Vinegar first and for most is a probiotic. Probiotics are fermented foods that produce “good bacteria” or “good yeast” to improve your health, helps to maintain a strong immune system, and makes our digestive tract healthy. I generally take one tablespoon daily for general health and to maintain a normal PH in my body (normal or alkaline PH in the body = decreased illness and decreased likelihood for disease to develop). Not only that, but ACV can also aid in the treatment of ear infections, sore throats, yeast infections and acne.
Garlic…oh my darling, garlic! This is a staple in my household…garlic and honey for a sore throat, garlic tea for a cold, a clove here and there as an antibiotic, to cure yeast infections, or bronchitis…I love this stuff! At the first sign of illness I take my garlic or my master tonic (which also includes a ton of garlic).
The next staple is Aloe Vera. Most people know this stuff is good for irritated skin, sunburns and bug bites. I also use this in my hair to decrease frizziness, and to maintain my tight lil curls in my wash and go’s, instead of using commercialized gels products 🙂
Coconut Oil has yet to disappoint me…I use it in my raw hot chocolate, in my oil pulling, as a facial moisturizer, in my cooking and now in my toothpaste (post coming soon). There’s also antibacterial and anti-fungal properties in this beautiful oil…so get to it!
And last, but certainly not least is Ginger. Another must have in the kitchen! Increases blood circulation, prevents the cold and flu, calms the stomach (i.e. nausea, motion-sickness), decreases pain and inflammation and strengthens the immune system amongst other benefits.
